Some are saying that it can be an addiction, like other behavioral addiction (not substance), with chemical releases (adrenaline) in the brain that we become dependent upon. We are living in a time that seems to thrive on fear.

And we are seeing a lot of this unhealthy fear today.

When used in this sense, it is condemned in scripture.

But it can also paralyze us to the point that we fail to do what we should be doing.

In fact it is one of the primary emotions.

This fear can be healthy if it is properly responded to and provokes reasonable caution.

Again, Webster says, “ an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger.” It can be an instance or the state of this emotion.

Webster says, “ profound reverence and awe especially toward God” AND it includes because fearful of Him – especially rejecting Him.

Reverence for God – this is good and healthy.It is the trust demonstrated throughout Hebrews 11 by godly men and women. IT is a trust that is so great, NOTHING will hinder it. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). It is at the foundation of our Christian lives and everything else builds upon it (2 Peter 1:5-7). Without faith we cannot please God – Hebrews 11:6.
